Project Brief: The Sawai Man Singh Townhall Building has immense potential to serve as a cultural and historic icon of Jaipur. It symbolises the first exhibition held on Jaipur arts and more strongly the administrative setup of Jaipur. The Rajasthan heritage museum has been divided into two distinct spheres with exhibits on the ground floor looking at the development of the Jaipur city and focusing on the nine different cultural zones of the state and on the first floor looking at the history of Rajasthan. Furthermore, the lower level will cater to active interactive zones for kids of different age groups. There are 17 galleries proposed on the ground floor of SMS Town Hall based primarily on Jaipur and distinct spaces dedicated to the geography and terrain, nine cultural zones and crafts of Rajasthan. First floor showcases the historic and archaeological timeline of Rajasthan through 12 proposed galleries. The lower level is dedicated for interactive and immersive spaces to engage the kids and youth.
