Project Brief:Moti Mahal located in the Nakkar Khana; Peer Gate area in Bhopal is one of the most significant heritage structures forming the royal plaza surround the Iqbal Maidan. Built by Sikander Begum in 1847, it is believed that the two-storied palace was to be used as the first Darbar hall of the province. The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board plans on setting up a Bhopal City Museum (Tourist Interpretation Centre / Citizen Engagement Centre) at Moti Mahal, an important heritage site in the city. With high significance of the building, the proposed museum with 11 galleries will focus on the rich history of Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh covering the Historical and Geographical context of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal district and the formation of the city of Bhopal in particular.
