Orchha: A Medieval Splendour 2.0 – Under Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) Scheme

Project Scope: The project proposal encompasses the Development of Tourist Information Centre for Orchha including a Hunarshala for the artists. While developing the city of Orchha, it also promotes Green Tourism and Digitization Interventions. The overall scope of work encompasses background studies, assessments, context analysis and preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR), documentation of building and landscape, Identification of historical architectural layers, structural analysis and Condition assessment of buildings and landscape inclusive of preliminary design Layout plan, infrastructure plans, working drawings, BOQ, schedule of area statement, detailed specification of entire items of works to be executed, schedule of quantities and analysis of rates. The final stage shall be the supervision of the execution of the proposed works inducing supervision for quality assurance.

ORCHHA: A MEDIEVAL SPLENDOUR 2.0 – UNDER CHALLENGE BASED DESTINATION DEVELOPMENT (CBDD) SCHEME

Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (MPSTDC) has commissioned a project to conceptualize, design and supervise the execution of Destination Development works of Orchha as an Iconic Tourist Destination to DRONAH.

A project for 25 crores has been awarded under the Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) Scheme (A sub-scheme of Swadesh Darshan 2.0 Scheme) by MPSTDC. This project includes development of a tourist facility centre at the entrance to the city, an integrated digital platform for all activities surrounding tourism as a website with 360 degree viewing of sites across Orchha, arts and crafts bazaars (Hunarshala Bazaar), a Hop-on and Hop-off service for Visitors, and developing Heritage Streetscaping in order to create a holistic and engaging experience for visitors with programmes for Skill development and initiatives for Tourism MSME.
