Diamond Museum at Panna

Project Scope: The project proposal curates a Diamond Museum in Panna. The overall scope of work encompasses Structural conservation and restoration of the complete building, Enhanced visitor facilities to improve accessibility, hygiene, and safety, Development of engaging exhibits on geology, mining techniques, and famous diamonds, Integration of digital and interactive storytelling elements to enhance visitor engagement, Creation of retail spaces to promote local craftsmanship and souvenirs, inclusive of preliminary design Layout plan, infrastructure plans, working drawings, BOQ, schedule of area statement, detailed specification of entire items of works to be executed, schedule of quantities and analysis of rates. The final stage shall be the supervision of the execution of the proposed works inducing supervision for quality assurance.

DIAMOND MUSEUM AT PANNA

Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (MPSTDC) has commissioned a project to conceptualize, design and supervise the Execution of Diamond Museum at Panna, Madhya Pradesh to DRONAH in April 2025. The project aligns with the broader goals of sustainable tourism development. The museum will be housed within the 18th century heritage structure, proposed to be conserved, restored, and adapted to provide a modern, engaging, and accessible experience. The facility will feature interactive exhibits, historical artifacts, digital displays, and hands-on activities to ensure a dynamic and immersive visitor experience. A key aspect of the project is community engagement, where local artisans, historians, and mining experts will be involved in curating narratives and exhibits. The museum will also contribute to the local economy by attracting domestic and international tourists, thereby increasing the overall tourism potential of Panna and its surrounding attractions, including Panna National Park, Ken Gharial Sanctuary, and Pandav Falls. The Museum includes various galleries, an arrival Tourist centre with ticketing, cloak, toilets, a souvenir shop, a forecourt with landscape, access to Raja Chatrasaal, an internal court with mining display and access to the park located south of the Museum complex. A parking space exists adjoining the northern entrance of the complex.
