Conservation and Adaptive Reuse of Mayer Ghat:

The more than 200 years old Doorgacharan Mookerjee Ghat on the eastern bank of the river Ganga (Bhagirathi-Hooghly) in the Bagbazaar area of North Kolkata had been taken up by the local centre of Sri Ramakrishna Math for restoration and adaptive re-use of the Ghat structure and improvement of the immediate environs. On behalf of Centre for Habitat, Environment and Disaster Management (CHEDM), Prof. Mondeep Chattopadhyaya and Ms. Suchandra Bardhan from DRONAH prepared an outline plan for the same and supervised the entire work. Part of the riverfront was also developed for community use and enjoyment.

A Research project that attempts to investigate the merits of horticultural practices in day-to-day life of every individual. In this context, it recommends the introduction of horticultural or environmental byelaws integrated with building byelaws to make these practices mandatory for every household, so that the manifold advantages not only benefit the urbane, but also the urban environs.
